Ignite Sport > News and Blogs > Young people are encouraged to learn more about Ignite Sport UK's sports-based apprenticeships at upcoming virtual open event

Ignite Sport UK will host a virtual open event in the week following National Apprenticeship Week to help young people exploring the idea of a sport-based apprenticeship to better understand the opportunities supplied by the matrix Standard accredited training provider.

Hosted by Ignite Sport UK General Manager Hannah Bladen, the open event will take place on Wednesday, February 24, via Zoom to guarantee compliance with the Government’s current COVID restrictions.

The evening will provide year 11 leavers upwards and their parents or carers the opportunity to learn more about Ignite Sport UK’s sports-based apprenticeships and the career pathways they provide.

Viewers will be able to virtually meet Ignite Sport UK’s friendly team and learn from the experiences of current apprentices that are nearing the end of their work placements with a designated primary school.

There will also be a chance for viewers to submit any questions they may have about the company’s opportunities via a question-and-answer session that will conclude the open event.

Based at Oxford City FC, Ignite Sport UK is a registered training provider for sport and education qualifications, working in further education, apprenticeships and adult education.

The company was founded in 1999 and strives to inspire people through sport while providing young people with the best paid learning experience via face-to-face training, experiencing real-life situations and online e-portfolios.

Hannah Bladen said: “Our upcoming virtual open event is a fantastic chance for young people interested in sports coaching to establish their pathway to a successful
career.

“Attendees at our previous virtual open events have commented on how useful they found the evening, even though we have taken the decision to host them virtually. During the evening, you will be able to learn more about our core values via our showcase video and listen to the real life experiences our current apprentices are developing.

“I look to seeing as many young people and their families possible.”

Ignite Sport UK apprenticeships are open to anyone concluding their Year 11 GCSE exams and upwards and train young people in schools across the UK to support the provision of sport.
