#Boost is a home-learning, energy-filled course for children aged 7 to 11 years: Create your own daily PE, look after your mind and boost your happy thoughts, health and immunity.
The course is designed to be fun, to keep children active and engaged, and to gain suitable knowledge of how looking after themselves is of huge importance.
(Watch out too for the Football version of the course, #Optimise - launching soon...)
In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, promoting wellness has never been more important. This brand new 'learn at home' initiative is brought to you to by Ignite Sport partnered with Ofqual-registered awarding organisation, Transcend Awards.
Learners will receive an official certificate on completion of the course.
Qualification aim: to develop the learner’s ability to prepare, participate in, and review performance of a wellbeing programme, all of which is designed to boost their immune system and maintain wellbeing domains.
Qualification objective: to provide a benefit to learners by enabling them to engage in a wellbeing programme which considers whole person wellness dimensions, including:
Each element of the course is supported via very simple-to-follow instructions, e.g. physical wellness encompasses a series of exercises that can be enjoyed at home with the whole family or individually – once completed and understood, this section is logged and should be repeated to maintain active wellbeing.
Qualification rationale: to support the wellness of the general public in light of the COVID-19 crisis. This qualification is designed for primary school children who wish to improve their overall wellness and strengthen their immune system.
Qualification philosophy: the qualification development, delivery, and awarding philosophy are learner-centred.
The course will begin with a 1-hour induction via webinar. On completion of the webinar the child will receive a portfolio to work through. Our course tutors will be on hand via email to 'coach’ the children (and assist parents!) if needed throughout the independent learning phase.
The course will end with submission of the learner’s portfolio and a final 1-hour webinar. (The duration between the first and the final webinar is dependent on the learner and can be up to 8 weeks maximum.)
The cost of the course is £25, inclusive of resources, webinars, online support, and the awarding certificate.
For families wishing to enrol more than one child, please contact us for a sibling discount.
Schools who wish to purchase a group of licences can contact us for school group pricing.
Schools will be issued with a voucher code for parents to acquire the course online. The course is designed to take place at home during school closures to assist children in keeping active and engaged in PE.
If schools re-open ahead of a child completing the course, this is fine; it should be seen as a project rather than replacing schoolwork and therefore can be continued to completion on evenings and weekends – it’s very flexible.
Please note, webinars are one-way view only – children, teachers, and parents can see our tutor online and interact with questions along the way, however, the tutor will only hear and not see webinar guests.
When enrolled, each learner will be registered with Transcend Awards. Learners will receive an email from Ignite Sport with a link to the induction webinar 3 days prior to the event.
(This qualification is solely awarded by Transcend Awards Limited as the recognised awarding organisation regulated by Ofqual in England.)
